So, this semester my tuition is $9,190 with all the other fees but without books so far

I have $6,220 in loans coming in though
Thus, I have to come up with:
$2,970
My mom was able to come up with $2,000 to help with, and another $1,500 for next semester, which means I need to find about $1,000 just lying around.

However, if this job that I have one more interview hoop to jump through becomes mine, I should be able to work just one job, and around school wherein after about a year I'll be making $45,000 a year plus benefits.

Excellent documentary

Waiting for Superman

Playing in select theatres, which means if Lawrence will get it, it will be awhile. Currently it is at two theaters in KC. The awesome part is, with every purchase of a movie ticket or a book (same name) the filmmakers donate $15 towards schools.

The documentary goes over many of the problems with American schools, and uses many stats that I have frequently quoted. I'm quite anxious to see the film and/or read the book.

The Challenge

The quote from the opening of Star Wars Clone Wars on Cartoon Network read:

Then, it went in to discussing greed. The implication is that greed is the root of corruption. Of course, this reminded me of a discussion years ago with a kid about money, who attempted to convince me that greed was the greatest "invention."

Took the open book test out for SCI214, encompassing science class today, and I feel pretty confident that I passed. However, I found out that Senior level doesn't get me any more money for school.

Did find out that if I am able to afford all my credit hours this term, I will need the exact amount next semester and be done.

Over the weekend found out another Sensei bounced from YCOA and is doing excellent, but he had some money saved up. Wand to meet up with him and at least set him up with my contacts or through me to my contacts. Would love to partner up with him on things too. He's a great instructor.

Fred Phelps got me thinking

Since his, and his compound's, court case is going before the Supreme Court of the US this week, where exactly in the Bible does it say that God Hates? I mean many things the writers claim are smite worthy, especially in the OT, but where do any of the writers claim that God Hates? So, I found this lovely exercise on the matter:

Wow, no word for word hate, but quite an enjoyable laugh... especially the sex for God... what a bumper sticker that would be...

I keep finding a reference to Proverbs 6:16, but in Proverbs 6 it only list that which God detests... not what God hates.

At any rate, the fight club quote always serves me well to remind who we base our image for God on:

"Our fathers are our models for God. If our fathers bailed, what does that tell you about God?"

I must admit this was quite the revelation in thinking when I came across this line at the time in my life.

God is referred to as Father in Christianity. Thus, naturally our own father is placed as our image of God. It makes perfect sense, but I didn't connect it until hearing that line.

What does that say about most TV preachers? If they truly believe what they say, what does that say about their fathers?

Not that I'm pro religion all of a sudden, but what would most atheists I know say about their fathers? Fact: many don't know their fathers. If a religion is presented to a person without a father, or feelings of hatred towards their father, as the end all father figure, how can anyone expect them to embrace it?

Leave it to the scene stealers crew, but not only is the list good, but the descriptions. I always enjoy talking movie with them, because no one really sees the same movie.

However, the extra detail about Nightmare on Elm Street was great.

On me own?

Well, tonight a schedule change after I was at work translated into working a position on my own.

No big deal, and I get off earlier unfortunately I feel. Though, I can use the time to do other things I suppose.

Wednesday, for sure I am at a house by myself all night, which should also not be a problem.

Enjoying the work so far, just always curious as to what specifically needs to be done, as most people tend to trail off when it comes to that portion and speak in general terms. For example, what does clean mean? What does clean the kitchen mean? When do we clean the kitchen?

Very pertinent questions that are frequently skimmed over.

Enjoyed a nice dinner with my dad before work, and I even paid. Thought he was going to have a heart attack though. The look of shock and awe on his face were priceless when I took the tab. Now, if only he could get the house sold or I could hurry up and win this lawsuit.... Then, all of the family could have some dough.

I got a message about a 5hr Mil-Spec stint. Which was pretty uneventful up until the last 30 minutes when a shoeless guy wandering around needed to be directed towards a restroom to wash his head wound he had received. Simply monitoring the McDonald's drive through for overly awkward drunks. Super mellow gig, had to ask a few to drive into the drive through line, and tell one guy to stop burning out in line.

Field Music

That was the name of the band that Cameron and I went to see tonight at the Record Bar.

It was good times. The super arty opening band was mellow but good, and the second "opener" was really good. The Field Music is from North Eastern England, and had a great set.

I did, towards the end of the night, see the art girl from June... not really awkward, but at first I wasn't sure it was her, then had to remember her name... Then, I'm guessing she didn't notice me, because she was looking for someone else to pop in and say hey too, but we had a standard cordial exchange of hello's.
