Light without an electric bill or the overly added heat, albeit, I am reminded that the computer puts off quite a bit.
So since the reqs for Black Belt are only 10 katas, and 8 for Brown I am thinking of revamping to:
Green - Taikyoku Sho Dan (req)
Blue - Kumo E Dan
Purple - Pyong E Dan and Pyong Sam Dan
Orange - Kumo Sah Dan and Pyong Sah Dan
Red - Chulgi Cho Dan and 18 Hung Family 5 animal 5 element
Brown - Pyong O Dan and Koryo
That would add the new one of the 18 5 animal 5 element, and take away some of the unneeded kind of gimme katas:
Taikyoku Ni Dan
Taikyoku San Dan
Kumo Cho Dan (yes more difficult than the prior two up there, but still easy squeezy)
Pyong Cho Dan (Also more difficult but the opening similarity confuses most)
the similar and thus suprisingly difficult for the students to mentally separate by its namesake:
Kumo Sam Dan
And I do now have both Kumkang and Tae Baek ready to go I know the keops and all, albeit there are minor stylistic differences between my two references, I go with the one that makes the most sense to my own personal style. Example one has a pulled through elbow strike, yet the other has a head grab elbow smash, my choice smash. Another would be one turns but 90 degrees and the other goes 270, the 270 shows more control, but the 90 makes the practical sense, so I am debating that, and will decide probably today during my practice session.
