Chinese Charm
I get in my car and look down on the floorboard. What do I see? A purple inlaid Chinese symbol on a tiny silver disk. Picking it up I flip it over and it says love. What a good sentiment in my car, however, I have no idea where it came from. I hope Sensei Kelly's kid didn't leave it in there on accident.
Tournament was moi moi bueno.
Many students, most from St. Joe or Topeka, than from Lawrence. I had students do very well, I was very happy for them. Sensei Colby and Sensei Yuriy both gave my two highest ranks very high compliments. One for Jessica, right in front of her, she was very embarassed and proud at the same time, I think she almost blushed. David's was overheard by Jessica in fact and then confirmed and built upon. Although, Yuriy, did say just some Lawrence kid, in his compliment.
Tonight I took a picture with all the students who went to tournament and plan to do so tomorrow as well. I will put them on the website for all to enjoy. Here soon I am going to have to get boards and bricks as I plan to demo that before winter break.
One studeent actually gave me her picture from tournament which I promtly placed in my wallet of smiles. My Brother, My Cousins, and now My Studnet... mmm smiles all around.
At tournament I had a couple of Senseis comment on me always smiling and how that made them feel better, and then even a few parents. I really don't pay that close of attention and actually think I don't smile that often... hopefully it works that way for my feeling of talking to much in person with peoples.
Mikko is back, and he, much to his shagrin, has to go back to Kinnedyne tomorrow. I always enjoy having peeps to keep my true around. Even though it makes me yearn for elsewheres.
At tournament I realized and told a couple of studnets, that I am the only American born Sensei who doesn't salute or place his/her hand over their chest for the national anthem... hey at least I look the right way... Stupid Nazi genocidal inspiring country ain't pledging my allegiance to them or their flag. Hypocrites every one.
