Tired morning

Yesterday I:
went to work for a little bit,
then went to class,
got my final project approved for next week's presentation,
picked up g/f,
pulled off the starter and the alternator,
went to the parts store,
got a free replacement alternator,
got the starter that was $160 for only $70 (she paid),
put the parts back on her car,
she went to class,
I did some classwork at home,
went out to a "fancy" place for dinner,
then... the night got long...

She got mad because she realized that in July she was the one that began the relationship, and that was a first for her. So, she was mad that I basically said I probably wouldn't have initiated had she not, because I tend not to.

Eventually, this led to her admitting that the real reason she was jumpy was that she realized she loved me and was worried I would either "freak-out" or that for the first time she was more into someone than they were into her.

So, getting to sleep took some time, and about 1 am or later that conversation actually ended. I really should stay at work until 8:30 or 9 tonight, even though I don't have a meeting, but being this tired I don't know if I'll make it.

Do people understand their quotables?

"There is also a vast generational gap that some governments may not be able to bridge, said Ken Gude, managing director for national security at the Center for American Progress."

This and other fun quotes by "Western" societies about the current uprisings in the "Arab" world:

How funny is it that corruption and waste are demonized in countries other than where the "law" makes them legal? Either you pay this amount or we send you to jail, instead pay this amount or we beat you. The bone thrown to the Americans was one of the first Black President = don't riot or you're racists. The UK got a third party in. Other countries got their "pacifiers" too.

Capitalism = greed = corruption = class separation = anger = revolts, and it doesn't matter what your so-called government is; whether that's a "democracy" or an autocracy or fascism.

just a 100 billion away

From the national debt overtaking the national GDP for the US.

Within the year, the US will be "under water" as a nation.

What does that mean for "security?" Hopefully, it means that finally military spending will have to be reigned in as once you go over your GDP in debt other nations are much less likely to lend more.

With Japan, China, and the United Arab Emirates still the largest debt holders for the US, and now the UK has edged up there. Though, next in line is creepily Brazil followed closely by Caribbean Banking Centers.

Apparently, this is dwarfed by the amount the US has loaned itself through the Federal Reserve, which begs the question does the reserve have that in real money or is it just imaginary money?

Breathe

Did get an inquiry about teaching in Topeka soon for a random program.

Hopefully that works out.

Also, going to try and use the Flash skills from this last class to make the images of Kumo E Dan (the kata) flow from one to another for my final project.

If that works, then I can update the website with more stuff soon. Did find out that photobucket changed some link thing and will probably have to go redo all the videos, but for now I just unlocked the folder, so anyone can view all of them at once without having to switch back and forth.

Gouge my eyes out?

This "professor," for lack of a proper title, doesn't even read when he replies in what is supposed to be a discussion based class, Political Science. Case in point:
My Post:

I feel that capitalism ultimately is an alternative to democracy. Our current "democratic" system relies entirely on capitalistic ideals. Without money you cannot run for office. Without a like-minded individual in office, you cannot have a voice. Without a voice, you can enact real change through the American "democracy." Capitalisms imaginary ideas of ownership dolled out to the masses as pieces of metal or paper, and increasingly electronic currency, serve not to increase democracy, but rather the illusion of power.

Those who amass more monetary possessions rise through the falseness of the "democratic" process, and can affect others viewpoint with frequently completely false advertisements purchased on that which enslaves the masses: Television.

When you take away the illusion of hierarchy from the means of money, everyone becomes equal, just persons. You are not what you have in the bank or what you own, but merely a human being. Capitalism is another form of oppression of the few onto the many. This is why full democracies that I have seen function do not have this illusion of ownership and wealth. Oaxaca, Mexico, Iroquois, and more all value that of being equal, not better than.

The path that I have chosen is one to slay the ego, and capitalism is in direct conflict with that ideal. To say that capitalism promotes democracy would be to laugh in the face of reality. Capitalism promotes the purchasing of power through the false generation of wealth. Take a look at the way Americans and other countries have ceased to be countries of giving to others, but rather nations of greed and selfishness. In the immediacy of now, and the desire for instant gratification Americans forsake the "common man" living in squaller on the streets, and simply say it's someone else's problem when it comes to local, regional, and national needs.

For a quick check, how many neighbors do you know personally? How often have you helped a stranger in the winter weather that took a swath of America into its wake? Has capitalism breed democracy or fear of others? I say the latter.

His post directly after mine:

Class political freedom came first to Russia before economic freedom.

China has the opposite- it has economic freedom but has not achieved political freedom.

Class, what are your thoughts on this. What is more important economic or political freedom?

WTF does that have to do with what I said? This has been the whole class too (almost 6 weeks now), and I have made my problems very clear to those above him, and continue to do so. In fact, I made it clear to the local Dean (as this is an online class) that I feel this class shouldn't even be accredited due to his poor teaching habits.
