Got another on board

Well, I had quite a bit on my Friday plate, but the most important meeting was a success, and I have another instructor ready to come on board.

I met with Jesse, my first official black belt student, and she wants to teach again, and the few years she has been gone she has matured quite a bit.

I also, found the problem with my sister's washing machine, found my niece has a very nasty virus on her net book, met with Mil-Spec about a prospective job, and drop off some money for my lawyer.

Unfortunately, today I found out for sure that my dad cannot help with any dough until the house sells. My mom cannot help with anymore until the same.

So, hopefully that sells quickly for both of them to be better off financially, but I've come to realize that I need to figure something out myself here pretty quick, since the people helping start the business are at least 2 weeks behind.

Ghost Town

Well, I watched it before, and it was good then.

Watched it again today, and it was even better.

Ghost Town's message that I dug this time around wasn't the same as the first time. This time I received the message that it isn't the dead that have unfinished business and remain, it's the living who keep them tethered here.

Coincidentally, my brother called after a week of Sundance ceremony too.

Which all reminded me of the ancient traditions of not crying for 3 days after a person died, because you didn't want to tether them to the world to comfort your sorrow instead of being able to move on.

The movie really made me remember different times where I have taken that to heart. Much like people say when someone dies they are in a better place, but their actions speak differently. While it is selfish to be sad, after a time it's okay to grieve, and to show sorrow at a loss, but ultimately the sorrow shouldn't override the memory of the person.

Why Capitalism isn't Freedom

Capitalism means your dollar is your vote.

That's why people tell you to shop local, and why local businesses donate large sums of money to local politicians. That's why regional businesses donate to regional politicians and national businesses donate and lobby national politicians.

Therefore, you are not equal to your neighbor, or those who live in your city.

In capitalistic societies money is power. If one person has more power than the next then there isn't true freedom.

Because of this lack of equality, we can see that knowledge is regulated as well. If you have the means you are allowed to go to a school that teaches much more than the public school system, and then allows you better chances to get into a better post-secondary school as well.

By controlling the flow of knowledge and keeping ignorant the masses, fear mongering is readily able to create deep loyalty for a disloyal leadership.

Capitalism with a democracy as a figurehead is a joke. Much like socialism with a dictatorship as the leader. Both systems are flawed because they are instituted in a way that either creates loyalty or disparity. This leads to apathy of the masses, and no real change can take place. When the corrupt are run out, then and only then can the leaders who should lead take the reins.

However, through fear and manipulation of the ignorance from decades of planning, the ones who need the change the most, fail to recognize it either through fear, or petty compensation.

If it were a true race, then money wouldn't be allowed into the equation for any office. Each person would get the exact same amount of air time on whichever medium, and have to actually have issues to stand on, rather than controversy to stir up. Through monetary means to exploit a less well-off opponent, and the complicated and expensive process to run for a seat, true leaders are seldom put into positions that can benefit anyone. By the time they receive a post, the system has usually corrupted them enough, wherein, they no longer should be leading.

22.7.10

Consistent

Be consistent. In many things, whether driving, talking, or giving advice, be consistent. Consistency is key whatever it is that we do.

The phrase:
"Do as I say, not as I do."
should be an immediate sign to abandon that person.

We must be able to lead by example, not by words alone.

If we are unable to do as we say should be done, then we are inconsistent with ourselves, and thus, not honest with others.

Whether we want to be leaders or just be agreed with, remaining consistent shows the strength of one's character.

20.7.10

Done, but unknown

Apparently, somewhere my school idea was partially implemented in Missouri of all places. Where grades K-12 weren't existent only levels of learning that had to be passed, and parents were required to help out at the school.

Wish the person talking about it had known more, because that is something I would love to see in action to learn lessons from. Though, at the time they were "attempting" to convince me to become a full fledged teacher. This of course after I had taught 30 minutes of a zero level English course, because the teacher had a family emergency.

9:30am hoping to sell the Dishwasher and the Stove/Oven for a $100 combined. Unfortunately, the trailer purveyor didn't stop by, nor send another email thereafter.

Sensei Judy sent word that YCOA asked her to take back over Hillcrest, and she badly needed some funds, so she took it, but is still ready to jump to my ship ASAP.

So, things are kind of kicked into overdrive if I can get them going, but work, school, and more work. My dad really wants me to either find a job, ask for my old one back (not happening), or move to Texas to live with my Auntie.

I just still go with the flow, because anything else is frequently wasted effort. We shall soon see how the cards get dealt, and go from there.

Though, the other day someone did call me Caine. That was pretty sweet!

Lack of prolific

Hopefully, that means I'm being more prolific in my life, and have less time to be prolific for myself, but I doubt it.

Things have been hectic, or course. I may need more, but I am, sadly, getting less in the way of sustenance.

Though, I did go and get the EIN today woot, and now off of work to go help my Dad.

http://firebushbass.blogspot.com/2008/01/helping-out-neighbor-and-then-some.html

Working out a little, which may start up with my friend Tiffany's request again.

Many good books.

Many people not listening, and me being forced to do more than I offered. Such as learning Kendo tactics instead of Iaido.

My first black belt doing good, and then stepping out of bounds, and taking it upon herself not to return.

Many annoyances from Rose....

A lot of tired times, and a trend from motivation to non motivation, from girls to none to laziness about saying no again.

The official decision to give up alcohol.

Quotes Galore:

Consistently poor, and never understanding the art of motivation.

The joyous trip to Japan, and the ?unfortunate? return.

Finally got a diploma, and started back to school to learn again.

Many budgets, but many paycheck "issues"

Moved out of the moldy home, and it's still not resolved, but rather still causes anger to well up inside me.

Many people failing to do the right thing and making my life harder than I had ever wanted.
The worst week of my life in May saying goodbye.

The "benefits" of no work of going to South Dakota, Minnesota, and Texas!

1500 will wait for tomorrow

I made it back from TX.

We drove down, first to my Aunt Kathleen's. There we arrived about 2am, slept, and in the morning unloaded a 200 lb "display" rock, cleaned the guttering, unloaded an old claw-foot bathtub, and trimmed some trees. We also planted some trees that day, then on another day we fixed my cousin's bed and did odd and end things here and there. I'm going to work on my Uncle's website for him, and got about 2GB worth of pictures to sort through.

Once we got to my Aunt Fran's we cleared off the back porch area, and built a move-able back porch, because she has a septic tank cover where the porch lays. We unloaded another 200 lb rock, a water pressure tank with pump, the smoker for BBQ, and boards. While there we moved all the items from the trailer to the truck for my Aunt Tina's, we built a front porch that required a multitude of concrete to be broken up. I was the main breaker, and the porch portion wasn't so bad, only 4" thick, but the step was SOLID, and it was a good 3' x 10" x 8" and almost all of it had to go for the new steps. We did some odd and end things in the house as well, and my dad, mostly, cooked the BBQ for another cousin's upcoming wedding.

We visited my Aunt Tina's twice, once to unload, and then we went back to my Aunt Fran's. The second time we caught the tail of what used to be Hurricane Alex when visiting my Uncle for lunch further south of Houston, and then it followed us back and flooded many parts of Houston.

All-in-all it was a good trip, and good to see everyone.

The only part that hurts is my hands from all the sledge-hammering, but by tomorrow I hope that to be gone since I didn't sledge today.
