A job of sorts

For at least the next couple of weeks I will be helping out in the warehouse at the office for karate, so talk about a job willing to work around my class schedule. It was supposed to be just a few hours here and there, but they said due to raffle getting turned in that I would probably be working almost full time at $9/hr for the next week or two. So off to work at 9am in Olathe I go.

Post Office or B.S. office

I think the latter.

Not only is postage now 41 cents per envelope and you can't find a price for less than first class postage, but their machines that accept coinage and bills will only dispense 50 one cent stamps or booklets. Then their automated machine only does booklets or more that $1, because it costs too much to operate. Then the places that sell stamps, Dillons, only have books after 10 and won't get the singles, or Hy-Vee I luckily found a cool dude who put it back behind the completely locked up counter, and would take care of it in the morning.

So really stamps pointless I think. Because you have poor access and then the inability of accurate options. Friggin ridiculous I remember when stamps were less than 20 cents... Outrageous really.

Then to top it off my bank was completely out of envelopes at all but one atm in town... and right when I got back Meeks hit me up with his portion of rent. So I drop money in only to need to do it again.

Good BBQ

All good companies, saw plenty of regulars and rarely seens.

Until the very end I didn't have to shut someone up.

Little maybe thirteen year old kid said that the Middle Eastern Countries were the most evil in the whole world.

I just gave him that half sideways dog look at are you serious.

Then I said okay, look at it this way:

Answer 0

How many American children, do white suburban kids kill because their parents don't teach them how to deal with real life situations in our high school and middle schools?

SILENCE......

Blocker week is fun all around

very enjoyable, and today we even had time to do a roll instead of just the pulling take down. Tournament prep week is coming up soon OH YEAH aka next week. Going to a BBQ at the parentals, and that is sure to be awesome, tomorrow gun show!!!!

after consulting with their higher ups, guess who got the deal they offered. That's right me, and tomorrow I sign the papers to the effect.

Meeting today

went in with my death dealer suit on, broke it down with no talk from "union representation" nor the perpetrator, John, of the pointal offenses, but with two questions from the boss, and then a guarantee of an answer by Thursday.

A plan of action

I believe the plan will be to go in on Tuesday, and explain rather than sue or work with incompetence I will voluntarily resign. Talked with Chris and Los last night about finances and such, and the possibility of going to school to get a degree and what not, so as to have to worry less about monies in the long run...

So we shall be scratching it out for awhile, but Los is looking for jobs, and Chris is trying to do the same.

It was a good day
Went to breakfast at Wheatfields, then to a Gun Show in KC, dropped off Chris and went to see 2 days in Paris, and lastly dinner at Buffalo Bobs.

Had a great discussion with Joe about many things, and was very grateful for his input along the same thought processes as mine.

Freedom Tickling

for those of you who don't know what Freedom Tickling is, it was the name Jon Stewart gave to torture so that it wasn't torture.

Anyway on the NPR today, they were talking to the ACLU about their Freedom of Information Act probing into the memos and orders to what was allowed at the prisons for terror suspects. Showing that in fact in documented memos and cases that the US did in fact tell it's soldiers to do what they said they didn't tell them to do in the leaked prison photos.

ACLU - whether or not it's torture is academic, but no matter which way it goes the fact remains that it is deemed cruel and inhumane treatment, and illegal by both US and international law.

So their reasoning was it's not torture, because in order to train troops in the special forces; they are subjugated to the same treatment.

The way I break that down is:

In order to train our troops to resist torture
We subjugate them to the acts that might happen to them if they're captured
In essence what we would call torture
However it is not torture, because we are doing it to them instead the enemy.

That's right, it's not torture, because it will be torture, and to prepare you for being tortured, we are going to show and do to you torture techniques, but just remember, because it's friendly it's not torture, but rather freedom tickling......

Then why did the city make a formal proclamation against the war?

Then why does the city consistently make proclamations to express their political views, but only when it doesn't pertain to their "dirty little secret" of an Indigenous University in it's midst, where they want to build a South Lawrence Trafficway, completely ignoring the hundreds of Children mass buried there, and simply saying oh they just want to keep their land selfishly.... right... how about we build the mf'er down 15th street but just slightly north.... or never even acknowledge that they shisted the land from Louisiana Street to Massachusetts, from 23rd to 31st. No it's okay if we just call the school and park Broken Arrow, and then name the Housing Development Indian Hills..... f'n pricks masquerading as Liberals.

Steps coming into formation

took some time after class today and made the step much more level, and started a bit of the walkway.

Cleaned out the car and found out why it smelled of death the last two days:
culprit RoRo left a half eaten apple underneath the passenger seat....

So cleaned everything out, FeBreezed it and threw in the two staffs and two broadswords to get ready for the morning.

Getting ready to go to sleep, Smitty hit me up on my dinner offer for him and Cherie for her help this morning. So third shower today and I'm redress to go out.

good times shall ensue I'm sure.

Unknown Territory

With the nieces around it's hard to know how much I should correct them on, and what I should just let them do since, at home I'm not their teacher, and definitely not their father..... It's such a weird balancing act on that line.

Warrior v. Soldier

The major difference between a warrior and a soldier is that a soldier does what he told without question and a warrior does what is the will of the people for the betterment of the whole society.
