Why Capitalism isn't Freedom
Capitalism means your dollar is your vote.
That's why people tell you to shop local, and why local businesses donate large sums of money to local politicians. That's why regional businesses donate to regional politicians and national businesses donate and lobby national politicians.
Therefore, you are not equal to your neighbor, or those who live in your city.
In capitalistic societies money is power. If one person has more power than the next then there isn't true freedom.
Because of this lack of equality, we can see that knowledge is regulated as well. If you have the means you are allowed to go to a school that teaches much more than the public school system, and then allows you better chances to get into a better post-secondary school as well.
By controlling the flow of knowledge and keeping ignorant the masses, fear mongering is readily able to create deep loyalty for a disloyal leadership.
Capitalism with a democracy as a figurehead is a joke. Much like socialism with a dictatorship as the leader. Both systems are flawed because they are instituted in a way that either creates loyalty or disparity. This leads to apathy of the masses, and no real change can take place. When the corrupt are run out, then and only then can the leaders who should lead take the reins.
However, through fear and manipulation of the ignorance from decades of planning, the ones who need the change the most, fail to recognize it either through fear, or petty compensation.
If it were a true race, then money wouldn't be allowed into the equation for any office. Each person would get the exact same amount of air time on whichever medium, and have to actually have issues to stand on, rather than controversy to stir up. Through monetary means to exploit a less well-off opponent, and the complicated and expensive process to run for a seat, true leaders are seldom put into positions that can benefit anyone. By the time they receive a post, the system has usually corrupted them enough, wherein, they no longer should be leading.
