details

The saying the devil in the details, and other clichés in general got me thinking last night. Mainly about how deep rooted thoughts have boiled down into single sentences, but the fact that they have makes most people lose sight of their meanings.

If for instance we make this simple swap:
devil - chaos

chaos is in the details.

Why?

Because we can all agree on a large idea, but when it comes down to the details, we attack each other without logic.

The finer the microscope we hold up to something, the more problems we see.

However, if everyone can agree on the main points, why do we have to argue so much about the fine ones?

If killing, raping, and stealing are corruption, and all can agree on these simple principles, why then do we sanction it?

If emotions get in the way of our ideals so often, why then do we not teach the controlling of these emotions to the next generation? Why do we endorse and wallow in our drama both in our lives and in our television?

The details cause chaos, and thus our society has thrown out the idea overall, but why?

The fear of details??

Fear is another emotion to be dealt with and then used to help you, not to paralyze you from doing good.
