Wedding and a Funeral
Just as I was coming back from the rehearsal dinner in Topeka, Ian called, and his dad passed away. Funeral on Monday. Apparently his dad didn't have a will or anything, and never legally was married to his step mom. So as the oldest son, all the financial, and property issues fell to him. He had to take out a loan just to fly out here.... He's hanging in there, but barely. It's one of those things where he just doesn't know where to start. All I knew to do was offer any assistance I could, whenever it was that he needed it.

Sorry to hear that, where is he going? I'm sure the wife will help. How long were they together, many states have common law marriage. Either way, he's in for a tough go. When my mother in law passed away, we did a lot of the financials, and it's a mess especially if you don't know what all they have out there. I guess you did all you could and I'm sure he knows he can depend on you when needed.
