Be not what they see, be what you see.

That line last night gave me 5 pages of handwritten text as I was trying to sleep. All about leadership, and how to be a good person. So that was the main focus of tonights black belt class, with a minor in observational skills of others.

Be not? I'm assuming typo because the sentence makes no sense if not.

While I think it's important to live up to your own expectations, I think in some people's case, they should also be what everyone else sees. Some people have little or now self confidence. When you tell them you see they great at something, they don't see it it. Should they go with what THEY think, or should they try to see what others see in them? I think it's important to see both versions of yourself and make yourself the best you can regardless.
