No More Prisons
I am still reading this book of 5 sections, but I am enjoying it thoroughly. I am up to the section about Homeschooling, and agree with what the author says quite frequently, and found another book referenced that would be a good read as well.
This one section posed this idea:
Ask teachers and adults to name one thing they could not have learned without school.
Then ask why not if they come up with something.
Ask motivational problems, and so on.
Which got me to thinking about this:
Write down 5 things you always wanted to learn or learn about, but haven't
Then write down why not, and decide whether or not your reasonings are good.
As for the other book it was by Grace Llewellyn
Then I did a social experiment this morning at the club:
Make eye contact and greet patrons as normal and hold out hand for their keys while looking at them still maintaining eye contact. Then see how many put the keys in your hands.
Results for today:
Men - none
Women - only a couple
So I pondered was it due to Fear (germs), Class Separation (lowly counter jockey doesn't deserve respect), or to underlying homosexual fears/realities.
