For a friend, or not for a fight

I found an old friend of mine is leaving for college.... finally, good for her and all, but there's a going away party that, round-a-bout I was invited to. The thing is the weight of saying good tidings at said party, or the possible disruption that was just today reminded to myself that could occur. Hard decision, whence I am centered enough to not be bothered by mere presence, I know the other part of the equation wouldn't be. As thus, the disruption from either their annoyance, or perhaps their attempts at another confronting me... hillarity I know... but nonetheless....I think I'll just ask the friend whether or not they desire my presence or just my good wishes.
