I hate it more
I finally read the side of the Lawrence City Trucks and that emblem of the city which I thought was the token eagle and bs, but NOooooooooo the city motto on that emblem reads From ashes to immortality, and the bird's a g.d. phoenix. F' you Lawrence, nothing is immortal you pompous tard f's.

In your opinion. ;) It's a spiritual belief that some things are or can be immortal. In a quasi-scientific view, time and energy are immortal. Energy can not be created or destroyed. Time just keeps going whether we know it or not. I think a phoenix is cool regardless of this immortal debate. I'm just curious WHY would it be a city wide symbol. I think that it's a figurative forever. The ashes symbolize the whole Quantrill thing. This city was burnt to what's that word? Oh, ASHES. And the phoenix (or firebird) is symbolic of the people of Lawrence rising from these ashes and building again. "you can't keep us down" mentality. The motto goes right with that imagery.
Can you tell I kinda dig my adopted home? Be thankful it's no other immortal mythical beings. Then we'd be talking something else entirely.
